{{/presale}}The last two silver dollar designs issued by the United States Mint for circulation with 90% silver content were the Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar. These two specimens are still widely available in circulated conditions that vary from slightly worn to cull or worse. Right now, you can buy Morgan and/or Peace Dollar Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Your purchase of Morgan and/or Peace Dollar Silver Coins in this listing comes with individual flips for single coins and mint tubes for multiples of 10 to 20 coins. Please keep in mind that we do not guarantee the specific coins you receive. Individual coins could be one Morgan Dollar or one Peace Dollar. Multiples could contain a mixture of Morgan and Peace Dollars or a full tube of one coin or the other.
More importantly, please note this is a worse than cull listing. Cull coins have severe damage, poor quality strikes, holes, gashes, and other forms of damage. Coins in this condition can even be bent or otherwise misshapen. This type of listing is ideal for buyers who are concerned only with the content of the coins and not the visual appeal.
Morgan Dollars
The Morgan Dollar Silver Coin features George T. Morgans left-profile bust of Lady Liberty on the obverse. Created in 1878, it depicts Liberty with a traditional coronet crown and 13 stars around her figure. The reverse of Morgan Dollar Silver coins bears a version of the heraldic eagle of the United States.
Peace Dollars
The Peace Dollar Silver Coin has a new-age image of Liberty on the obverse. Also depicted in left-profile relief, this portrait of Liberty has more graceful facial features and a larger crown formed by rays of sunshine. On the reverse of Peace Dollar Silver Coins is a depiction of an American bald eagle at rest on its perch with its wings folded at its side.
History
The Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar coins were the last 90% silver dollars ever struck by the United States Mint. The Morgan Dollar was issued from 1878 to 1904 and again for several months in 1921. By December 1921, the Morgan Dollar design was replaced by the Peace Dollar Silver coin that was struck intermittently through the 1920s and again briefly in 1934 and 1935.
