{{/presale}}While much of the focus on the success of World War II highlights the cooperation between the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union to defeat the Nazis in Europe, another successful alliance helped beat back Imperial Japan in the Pacific Theater. Provident Metals offers the US Australian World War II 1/10 oz Gold Coin for you to purchase online.
Highlights:
Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the United States stepped into a conflict it had long tried to stay out of. Now embroiled in World War II on two fronts, the United States moved to send troops, planes, ships, guns, and tanks to the European theater to assisted the UK and the remaining French forces. In the Pacific Theater, the United States allied with Australia to push the Japanese back to the main islands.
Obverse
The obverse face of US Australian World War II 1/10 oz Gold Coins feature the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This bust of Her Majesty was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley for the Royal Mint of England. It depicts the Queen with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head.
Reverse
On the reverse side of US Australian World War II 1/10 oz Gold Coins, you will find joint images of the United States of America and Australia alliance. Depicted vertically, the Stars and Stripes flag of the United States is depicted in the background field on the right, while the Southern Cross flag of Australia dominates the left background field. In the foreground, the majestic eagle from the top of the Australian-American Memorial in Canberra is depicted.
History
The alliance between the United States and Australian wasnt just a matter of aligning morals and convictions, it was a matter of strategic alliances. Australia was also threatened by the expansion of Japan across the Pacific Ocean and the US and Australia came together to push them back. One example of that joint effort was the Battle of the Coral Sea in which a joint US-Australian cruiser task force and a US aircraft carrier group stopped the Japanese advance into the South Pacific.
