{{/presale}}The Samurai class was one of the most influential in Japanese society for more than eight centuries. From the feudal and medieval 12th century society to early-modern Japan, the Samurai were the defenders of individual kingdoms or specific estates. In fact, the word Samurai translates as ones who serve. Today, you have the opportunity to purchase the 10 oz Silver Samurai Bar online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
10 oz Silver Samurai Bars are available to you with individual packaging or bulk options. The individual silver bars for sale in this series come with a sealed protective plastic flip or sleeve, while multiples of 10 are offered with a mint tube. Each individual bar is in brand-new condition from the Golden State Mint (GSM).
Obverse
The obverse side of 10 oz Silver Samurai Bars includes the image of a warrior in front-facing relief. The Samurai was on the only member of Japanese society with the privilege of carrying two swords. This Samurai is ready to defend himself as hes drawn his sword and adopted a defensive stance with one foot forward and one at a 90-degree angle behind for agility and stability. The weight, metal content, and purity are engraved on this side of the silver bars.
Reverse
For the reverse face, 10 oz Silver Samurai Bars feature a Japanese artistic design. This stylized image repeats across the reverse face of the bar. The Samurai wore a distinctive form of armor that was known as Karuta and actually originated from the Portuguese word for card. This was due to the resemblance of the Samurais square armor as rectangular cards.
History
Beginning in feudal Japan in the 12th century, the Samurai emerged as a hereditary military nobility in Japanese society and became an officer caste. The original purpose of Samurai was to serve an individual warlord or estate owner. Samurai were employed to protect the lands of an individual landholder and even lead the private armies of these individuals if the landholder had one. By the time of the Edo peaceful period of 1603 to 1868, Samurai no longer had much purpose as warriors and became land managers instead, gaining experience and education.
Ordering
These 10 oz Silver Samurai Bars are available from the Golden State Mint. The mint was founded in 1974 by Jim Pavlakos and continues its operations today in Central Florida with Jims son Andrew working alongside him to guide the mint forward.
