Obverse
For the obverse, the United States Mint uses Augustus Saint-Gaudens design of Lady Liberty for the Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins. Created in 1907, it features Liberty in front-facing relief with a torch in her right hand and olive branch in her left hand. There rays of sun originating behind figure and a circle of 50 stars around her figure.
Reverse
On the reverse, the Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin bears the image of a family of American bald eagles. The nest holds a small hatchling with a female guarding it while a male eagle flies overhead.
History
Proof American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins debuted in 1988 from the US Mint. American Eagle Gold Coins featured date marks in Roman numerals from the introduction year of each weight until 1991. Starting in 1992, the US Mint switched to Arabic numerals. All Proof American Eagle Gold Coins have W mint marks from the West Point Mint on the obverse.

Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks and hairlines. DCAM labels indicate the presence of strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, background fields.
