{{/presale}}Coins minted before World War II are, unsurprisingly, hard to find. This rarity can make the coins that are in decent condition sell for much more than their original face value. With the image of Lady Liberty on the obverse, these coins are great symbols of America. Right now, you can purchase the $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle Coins from Provident Metals in MS63 condition.
Highlights:
Coins in this listing received a Mint State 63 grade from either the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NCG) or Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Coins in this condition may have a dull or impaired luster. You may see clusters of small marks on the design field of the coins. Large marks or big nicks might also be located in prime focal areas.
Obverse
The obverse face of each coin showcases the image of Lady Liberty in left profile. She has her hair pinned up on the back of her head with a string of pearls in this rendition. She is also wearing a crown featuring the word Liberty. Around the design, you will see 13 stars, which represent the original colonies.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle image is featured on the reverse side of each of these coins. In this image, there is a shield on the eagles chest. In his talons, there are a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The words United States of America are seen around the design field.
History
Between 1839 and 1908, the United States Mint produced these coins. One thing that makes these coins unique is that they underwent a design change during the mintage span. This means that the printed text on the coin could vary. For example, the face value of the coin could appear either as 5 D or Five D. The motto In God We Trust will only be on the coins minted after 1866.
