Highlights:
Coins in this listing received a Mint State 64 grade from either the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NCG) or Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). Coins in this condition have a good overall luster with an even strike. You might notice several small contact marks in groups on the surface of the coin. Two moderately heavy marks might also be present. Overall, the coins are of attractive quality.
Obverse
The obverse face of each coin showcases the image of Lady Liberty in left profile. In this depiction, she has her hair pinned up on the back of her head with a string of pearls. She is also wearing a crown bearing the word Liberty. Around the design, you will see 13 stars representing the original colonies.
Reverse
The heraldic eagle image can be found on the reverse side of each of these coins. In this image, there is a shield on the eagles chest. In his talons, you can see arrows and an olive branch. The words United States of America are seen around the design field.
History
Between 1840 and 1907, the United States Mints Philadelphia, Charlotte, Dahlonega, San Francisco, and New Orleans facilities produced these coins. These coins were eventually replaced in 1908 by the Indian Gold Quarter Eagle Coins.
