{{/presale}}Discover the allure of the iconic Morgan Silver Dollar at Provident Metals. With a rich history, these coins hold a special place in American numismatic lore. From the original production era, these Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are a testament to craftsmanship and heritage.
Highlights:
Prior to 1873, the landscape of American coinage underwent significant changes. The Coinage Act of 1873 halted the production of American silver dollars, leading to the end of the Seated Liberty Dollar design.
Obverse
On the obverse of Morgan Dollar Silver Coins, Lady Liberty graces the coin in left-profile relief, marking a departure from previous designs. Engravings include “E Pluribus Unum,” 13 stars, and the year of issue. The inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and the date mark.
Reverse
The reverse of the Morgan Dollar Coin showcases the powerful image of the American bald eagle, clutching arrows and an olive branch. Engravings denote the nation of issue, the national motto, and the coins face value. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
Following the Bland-Allison Act of 1873, George T. Morgan was commissioned to design a new silver dollar. The result was the iconic Morgan Silver Dollar, featuring Lady Liberty on the obverse and the majestic American bald eagle on the reverse.
