In 2021, the United States Mint revived two well-known silver dollar designs that continue to draw interest from collectors. The modern Morgan Dollar and Peace Dollar programs bring back classic American coin imagery while fitting neatly into the Mints current silver offerings. These coins provide a familiar look paired with modern production standards, making them appealing to both longtime collectors and those new to the hobby. Certified Morgan Dollar Silver Coins are now available online through Provident Metals.

Specific years of issue and slab label styles are not guaranteed, as selections are made at random.

Obverse

The obverse of Morgan Dollar Coins showcases a left-facing image of Lady Liberty created by George T. Morgan. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap accented with cotton and wheat, symbols that reflect Americas agricultural heritage. The design draws inspiration from classical art traditions, giving the portrait a balanced and refined appearance that has remained popular for generations. The inscriptions here read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and the year of issue.

Reverse

On the reverse of Morgan Dollar Silver Coins, a heraldic eagle is shown with wings outstretched. The eagle grasps arrows and an olive branch, representing readiness and peace. A partial wreath made of cotton and wheat surrounds the eagle, tying the reverse design back to the imagery found on the obverse. Together, both sides present a cohesive and historically meaningful design. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.

History

After 1904, Morgan Dollar production stopped due to the expiration of silver legislation such as the Bland-Allison and Sherman Acts. With large quantities of silver dollars already stored in government vaults, additional production was no longer necessary. For seventeen years, no Morgan Dollars were struck, resulting in notable gaps within the series that later increased collector demand for certain issues.
