{{/presale}}Some of Americas greatest works of art on paper money came from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Silver Certificate and United States Note programs, in particular, were responsible for a range of designs that modern collectors and numismatists still seek out as popular items to add to a monetary collection. While finding the originals is difficult, high-quality collectible replicas are available as well. Right now, you can buy Educational Legal Tender Note Sets online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Provident Metals is happy to offer the new Educational Legal Tender Note Set to you for purchase with uncirculated, crisp, clean bills. Featured in this set are modern Federal Reserve Notes from the $1, $2, and $5 denominations. Each one has been modified through a proprietary process to include high-definition graphics on the obverse capturing the designs of the 1896 Silver Certificate Series. The notes are housed individually in blue display folios and come with individual Certificates of Authenticity.
Obverse
Each of the bills in the Educational Legal Tender Note Set comes with a different depiction of a female allegory. The $1 note features the allegory of History as she instructs a young individual while pointing toward the Washington Monument and US Capitol Building in the distance across the Potomac River. The $2 bill comes with a depiction of Science, a mature allegory, introducing the young allegories of steam and electricity to the slightly older allegories of Commerce and Manufacture. Finally, the $5 note depicts the image of the allegory Electricity coming of age as she shines a bright light upon the world.
Reverse
As with the obverse design, the reverse of the Educational Legal Tender Notes in this set features distinct designs. In this case, however, no modifications have been made. You will find the modern designs for the reverse of the $1, $2, and $5 bills. These include, in order, the all-seeing eye and Great Seal of the United States, the portrait of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and a vision of the Lincoln Memorial.
History
The 1896 Educational Series designs in the Silver Certificate paper currency release were in production for just over two years. In 1899, each of the denominations gained a new design. The Black Eagle-Dual President design came to the $1 note, George Washington came to the $2 note, and Running Antelope was featured on the $5 note.
