{{/presale}}Chinese Panda gold bullion coins are among the top-selling gold bullion products in the world. Introduced by the Chinese Mint in 1982, the series was the third of its kind to join the precious metals market behind the South African Krugerrand Gold Coins and the Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coins. As of 2016, the coins are available in Gram weights rather than Troy oz. Right now, you can purchase Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins in near-perfect condition at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
If you purchase the Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coin in this listing, you receive a coin with a Mint State 69 certification from either the Professional Coin Grading Service or the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. The MS69 grade indicates the coins exhibit full, original mint luster and have no more than two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines found outside the primary focal points of the coin.
Additional labels are possible in this random listing and include Early Release or First Strike as the most common possibilities. These labels indicate that a given coin was received for grading within 30 days of the initial release by the Chinese Mint.
Obverse
On the obverse face of Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins is the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This is the primary structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex and was built between 1406 and 1420.
Reverse
The reverse side of Chinese Panda 3 Gram Gold Coins comes with new images of the Giant Panda species for each date mark. The only time designs were ever repeated was 2002 when the 2001 image was used again. However, since 3 Gram gold coins in this series have only been available since 2016, you wont find any repeat imagery.
History
The Chinese Mint shifted away from its five Troy ounce weights in this series in 2016 to use Grams instead. The 3 Gram coin replaced the previously issued 1/10 oz gold and was slightly lighter at 3 Grams compared to 3.1103 Grams as the 1/10 oz coin. It also boasts a slightly greater diameter of 18 MM compared to 17.95 MM previously.
