Four of those weights were issued for the first time in 1982, with the fifth introduced in 1983. From 1982/1983 to 2015, the coins were available in Troy oz weights. The coins listed here come with a Mint State 69 certification, a grade indicating a specimen that exhibits full, original mint luster and has no more than two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside the primary focal points of the coin.
Provident Metals selects each coin at random after your payment has cleared. Coins in the 1/20 oz weight come with dates between 1983 and 2015, with varying designs on the reverse and the potential for various face values. If you buy several coins, please bear in mind that you may get coins with matching dates, designs, and labels.
Obverse
For the obverse design of the Chinese Panda Gold Coin, the Chinese Mint features the image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The coins in this series feature this depiction of the primary building in the Temple of Heaven Complex each year and the design has no changed over the course of the history of the series.
Reverse
In the reverse field of Chinese Panda 1/20 oz Gold Coins, the mint offers ever-changing designs of the Giant Panda. An unofficial symbol of the Peoples Republic of China, this animal has featured on the reverse of the gold coins since 1982, with only the 2001 and 2002 coins sharing a design element.
History
Chinese Panda Gold Coins were offered in Troy oz weights from 1982/1983 to 2015. From 1982/1983 to 2000, the face values in Yuan were much lower. In 2001, all of the coins experienced a jump in face value with 1/20 oz coins jumping from 5 Yuan to 20 Yuan.
