{{/presale}}The Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin is one of the most famous gold bullion coins in the world. Introduced in 1979, the only gold bullion coin that has been available longer is the South African Krugerrand Gold Coin that was introduced in 1967. Famous for being the first gold bullion coin to adopt 24-karat gold, the Royal Canadian Mint has also issued this coin, at times, with stunning .99999 pure gold. Provident Metals currently offers Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins with .99999 pure gold content to you for purchasing online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold coin through this product listing, Provident Metals offers you a 1 oz coin in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This type of listing offers you a specific coin, in this case the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin. However, the specific coin and date are chosen at random based on availability in our vault at the moment your payment is processed. We are not able to hand-pick date marks for you and cannot guarantee the dates on the coins if you purchase multiples. You may receive all matching date marks or a variety of different date marks.
Obverse
Queen Elizabeth II features on the obverse of the Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief, most likely in the Susanna Blunt design from 2003. This is the fourth-generation and most recent effigy of the Queen for British currency. It is, notably, the first since the reign of the Queens father, King George VI, to show the monarch without a crown.
Reverse
The sugar maple leaf is an iconic emblem of Canada and it features on the reverse of these Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coins. Most of the .99999 pure gold Maple Leaf coins have used a design from Stanley Witten. Rather than the Walter Ott design from the standard Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin. The Stanley Witten design features three maple leaves connected together on a single stem.
History
The first .99999 pure gold Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Gold Coin was issued as a test strike in 2005 and more readily available starting in 2007. The most famous .99999 pure Maple Leaf Gold coin from the Royal Canadian Mint was the 100 Kilo coin with a $1 Million (CAD) face value stolen from the Bode Museum in Berlin, Germany, on March 27, 2017.
