History
The United States Mint has released coins in the American Silver Eagle collection since 1986. Collectors everywhere have always enjoyed the silver and gold releases from this series. The burnished finish is an exclusive release that is only minted at the West Point U.S. Mint branch.
Obverse
The obverse of the Burnished American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin shows the Walking Liberty image designed by Adolph A. Weinman. This design has been featured in the collection since 1986. Lady Liberty is seen walking into the horizon with the American flag wrapped around her. Her arm is outstretched towards the sun.
Reverse
On the reverse of the Burnished American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is the heraldic eagle designed by John Mercanti. This eagle was originally inspired by the Great Seal of the U.S. The viewer can see the eagles outstretched wings on the reverse, as well as the arrow and olive branches it holds.
