{{/presale}}The Australian Kookaburra Silver Coin is an enduring silver bullion coin produced by the Perth Mint. It has been minted annually since 1990, making it the longest-running silver coin in their collection. Alongside the Australian Kangaroo Gold Coin, this coin holds a special place in the hearts of collectors. At Provident Metals, we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to own the Australian Kookaburra 1 oz Silver Coin.
Highlights:
When your Australian Kookaburra 1 oz Silver Coin arrives, it will be protected by a plastic flip to maintain its original condition. We kindly advise you that when purchasing multiples, it is possible to receive coins with the same date, design, or matching privy marks. Please keep in mind that Provident Metals carefully selects these coins at random, and we cannot guarantee a specific date or privy mark. Additionally, there is a chance of receiving coins with similar imperfections when buying multiples.
Obverse
The obverse of these Kookaburra 1 oz Silver Coins showcases one of several possible portraits of Queen Elizabeth II. From 1990 to 1998, Raphael Maklouf’s depiction of Her Majesty wearing the Royal Diadem graced the obverse. Ian Rank-Broadley’s interpretation, featuring the Queen adorned with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland diamond tiara, was used from 1999 to 2018. Jody Clark’s design, introduced in 2019, depicts Her Majesty wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem. Inscriptions include the denomination, year of issue, and the Queens name.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the Australian Kookaburra Silver Coins, you will find a captivating image of the Kookaburra. This remarkable bird, the largest member of the kingfisher species, is closely associated with the Australian Outback. Each year, the coin portrays a unique design showcasing this iconic animal. Inscriptions include the name of the coin, year of issue, and metal purity.
History
Within this remarkable series, you will discover a captivating selection of privy-marked releases. Some notable examples include a gilded Kookaburra, a zodiac privy from 2005, and privy coins celebrating the Chinese Zodiac since 2012. The face value for the years 1990 and 1991 is $5 (AUD), which was subsequently adjusted to $1 (AUD) in 1992 and has remained so ever since.
