The Martyrdom of the Apostles Series is a collectible coin program honoring the lives and sacrifices of the 12 apostles of Jesus. These men walked beside Jesus during his ministry and carried forward his message after his ascension. According to tradition, each apostle endured martyrdom while spreading the teachings of Christianity. The collection is made up of 12 proof and colorized proof coins, and a specially designed collectors box is available to store the series. Today, Apostles Series Holy Bible 12-Piece Collectors Boxes can be ordered from Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • 12-coin box with Holy Bible printed on the front!
  • Insert tray is designed to hold 12 coins in total!
  • Collect proof, colorized proof, or a mixture of coins in the series!
  • Please note, this box does NOT come with any Martyrdom of the Apostles Coins.

Each Apostles Series Holy Bible 12-Piece Collectors Box is built to resemble a book. The cover displays the title HOLY BIBLE, and the exterior takes on the look of a book jacket. When closed, the box has edges that look like pages. Once opened, a black insert tray is revealed, designed to hold 12 coins. While purchasing the box, collectors may also want to consider acquiring earlier coins in the series, such as James Son of Zebedee or Judas Iscariot.

The Martyrdom of the Apostles Series includes proof and colorized proof coins that illustrate the final moments of the apostles. Chosen by Jesus to share his teachings, these men are remembered for their dedication and the sacrifices they made. Their stories vary: Peter was crucified upside down in Rome, Andrew was crucified on an X-shaped cross in Greece, and James the Greater was executed in Jerusalem around 44 AD, marking him as the first apostle to be martyred. John, his brother, is believed to have died of natural causes in old age. Others were also martyred: Thomas was killed in India, Matthew in Ethiopia, and Philip in Turkey.
