{{/presale}}Introduced in 1997, the American Eagle Platinum Series was the third version of the American Eagle bullion coins made available by the United States Mint. The American Eagle Gold and American Eagle Silver coins debuted before these coins in 1986, and the American Eagle Palladium coin debuted in 2017 after these coins. Provident Metals now has American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins available to you for purchase online in near-perfect condition.
Highlights:
When you buy these American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins, you receive a product with a Mint State 69 certification from the NGC. Coins in this condition showcase full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
Obverse
The obverse side of the American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coin comes with a vision of the Statue of Liberty. This front-facing design focuses in on the stoic gaze of Liberty. Her right hand reaches out to hold up her torch, which extends out of view of the design element. The spikes of her crown remain visible with the tips reaching to the edges of the coin design.
Reverse
On the reverse face of American Eagle 1 oz Platinum Coins, you will find the image of an American bald eagle. This design was created by Thomas D. Rogers in 1997 and has featured on the reverse of the bullion version of the coin since 1997. It depicts an eagle soaring over the nation as the bright sun of a new day rises.
History
American Eagle Platinum bullion coins have been available with the greatest regularly in this 1 oz weight. The bullion series features the same obverse and reverse designs each year, while the proof versions of the coin actually have new reverse designs each year from 1997 to 2017, and new obverse designs from 2018 to 2020.
