{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Goldbacks are privately issued notes designed to function as a voluntary local currency. Each one is produced by bonding a thin sheet of 24-karat gold between layers of protective polyester, creating a flexible note that contains a precise amount of real gold. With detailed designs and measurable gold content, Goldbacks are among the few modern examples of spendable gold currency. The series began in Utah and has gradually expanded into other states, blending the historic appeal of gold with a practical format for everyday use. The Idaho series introduces artwork tied to the states identity. Today, 50 Idaho Goldback Gold Notes are available at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 50 Idaho Goldback Gold Note contains 24-karat gold and arrives individually in a plastic sleeve. If you purchase multiples of two notes, they will be packaged together with a black strap and will not include individual sleeves. These notes also feature modern security elements such as UV-reactive artwork, micro-printing, and a unique serial number to help confirm authenticity.
Design
The design of the 50 Idaho Goldback Gold Note shows a woman standing along the edge of Redfish Lake as she fly fishes in the clear alpine waters. Redfish Lake lies in central Idaho at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains and sits at an elevation of roughly 6,550 feet. The lake is well known for its scenic mountain surroundings and crystal-clear water. Its name comes from the large runs of sockeye salmon that historically returned here to spawn after traveling nearly 900 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, completing one of the longest freshwater salmon migrations in North America.
History
Patientia, the Roman allegory of patience and endurance, is presented as a calm and composed figure that reflects strength through perseverance. In Roman philosophy, patientia represented the ability to face hardship, delays, or uncertainty without losing focus or resolve. Rather than simple tolerance, the virtue suggested a deliberate choice to remain steady and composed when confronting challenges or long waits.
