12 gauge is the most popular weight of shotgun shells. Shotgun rounds are referred to by gauge as a measure of its weight consistent with the diameter of the barrel and the number of lead balls in the shell. Shotguns fire several small lead balls, or shot, compared to other firearms that fire a singular project with each round.

Design

5 oz Silver Rhodium and Gold Plated 12 Gauge Bullets are available in the exact size and shape of 12 gauge shells. The shell itself has a round, tubular shape with a slightly wider bottom that holds the incendiary that explodes and propels the shot out of the barrel. Each one has the weight, purity, and metal content inscribed on its base along with the pick ax logo of SilverTowne.

Plating

Unlike your average silver bullet, these beautiful products have a plating of rhodium and gold on the shell. The majority of the shell has a rhodium plating that delivers visual pop and luster to the bullet, while the wider base has a gold plating, as does the firing pin on the underside of the base.

History

12 gauge rounds are the most commonly produced shotgun shells in the world. The most common civilian use is for hunting fowl, while military units will deploy individuals with a 12 gauge for close-quarters combat.

Ordering

Your 5 oz Silver Rhodium and Gold Plated 12 Gauge Bullet comes with a presentation case and a themed shipper. The case slides into the shipper, which acts as a Certificate of Authenticity of sorts.
