{{/presale}}With their slightly rugged, old-school aesthetic, cast silver bars make for a truly distinctive investment option. Compared to minted bars, which have a sleeker, more refined aesthetic, cast bars are quite diverse, with no two bars looking the same. Despite their more rough-hewn appearance, the silver quality in cast bars remains equal to that of a standard minted bar. Provident Metals currently has 5 oz Argentia Matte Cast Silver Bars available to you for purchase online.
Bar Highlights:
When you order 5 oz Argentia Matte Cast Bars in this online Provident Metals listing, they will arrive to you in individual Mylar sleeves. Obverse
On the obverse face of 5 oz Argentia Matte Silver Bars you will find the brand logo and bar hallmarks. The hallmarks read 5 TROY OZ FINE SILVER .9999. Above this information is the Argentia insignia, which consist of a triangular design with the words ARGENTIA PRECIOUS METALS inscribed beneath it. The entire obverse has also been finished with a handsome matte polish.
Reverse
The reverse side of 5 oz Argentia Cast Silver Bars consists of a blank field. However, you may notice striations, ripples, and other various uneven textures. This is quite common for cast silver bars and is not considered a design flaw. In fact, many investors appreciate these qualities, as it gives each bar its own distinct appearance.
History
Silver was first discovered in copper mines around 5000 BC. The metal helped move civilization out of the bartering system and played a large role in the advancement of the first city-states in the ancient world. Athens in particular benefited from silver, most of which was sourced from the rich Laurium Mines starting around the 6th century BC. Athens averaged 30 tons of silver per year from this source, which allowed them to advance their military and gain control of the Aegean.
