For investors, small-weight platinum bars offer the most affordable option when looking to invest in platinum amidst resurgent prices. Right now, you can buy 5 Gram Platinum Bars from Valcambi Suisse online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of the 5 Gram Platinum Bar offered in this product listing at Provident Metals, you will receive a brand-new item available with individual packaging. 5 Gram platinum bars are housed in individual blisterpacks with an included assay card. The assay card offers authentication details on the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number of the bar.
Obverse
For the obverse design of the 5 Gram Platinum Bar at Valcambi Suisse, the mint features the Valcambi logo at the top of the bar. The design field continues down the face of the obverse with inscriptions of 50g, platinum, and 999,5. The assayers mark is found at the bottom near the individual serial number of the bar. The serial numbers are assigned using two-letter, six-number codes.
Reverse
In the reverse design field of 5 Gram Platinum Bars, Valcambi Suisse features its name and logo. The logo is the most eye-catching piece of the design. The logo itself appears once in the lower-right field, but it radiates throughout the entire background field with square frames that repeat out toward the edges of the bar. The words Valcambi Suisse are engraved vertically from top-to-bottom along the left side of the bar.
History
The first evidence of platinums use by human civilization dates to roughly 1200 BC in a small burial box found in Ancient Egypt. Spanish explorers encountered indigenous tribes in South America using platinum in the 16th century. In both cases, platinum was alloyed into gold and scientists believe the Egyptians and American indigenous tribes may not have known the platinum was in the metallic alloy.
Today, platinum is produced in low volumes each year because of its scarcity within the Earths crust. Some 80% of the worlds production comes from South Africa, with recycling sources offering the next-best option for platinum.
