The Lion of Judah is first mentioned in Genesis 49:9, where Jacob blesses his son Judah with the words, You are a lions cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion, he crouches and lies down, like a lionesswho dares to rouse him? This passage establishes the lion as a lasting symbol of leadership and strength for the tribe of Judah, a lineage that includes King David and the Messiah. This meaningful emblem is now featured on the 5 Gram Gold Lion of Judah Bar, available at Provident Metals.

History

The Lion of Judah represents both power and humility, a theme central to Christian theology. Christ is depicted as both a lion, signifying authority, and a lamb, embodying sacrifice. This dual symbolism reveals the harmony of divine justice and mercy, inviting reflection on the profound balance between strength and selflessness.
