Among the most common denominations in this system was the 40 Franc Gold Coin. Right now, Provident Metals offers 40 Francs France Gold Coins struck during the rule of Louis Philippe I.

Each of these 40 Francs France Gold Coins comes packaged in a simple plastic flip and is in circulated condition. These coins have seen regular use, so you may find small marks, scratches, or other signs of wear. Coins are selected at random and may have different or matching dates. We do not accept requests for specific years.
Obverse
The front of each 40 Francs France Gold Coin displays a portrait of Louis Philippe I. These designs reflect the neoclassical style popular in the 1800s. The king is shown in left-facing profile, along with inscriptions that identify his role as “King of the French,” emphasizing his connection to the people under a constitutional framework. Inscriptions read LOUIS PHILIPPE I, ROI DES FRANCAIS, and DOMARD.F.
Reverse
On the back side of the 40 Francs France Gold Coin, you’ll see a wreath made of laurel that encircles the denomination and the year of issue. These coins are made with 90% gold and 10% copper, providing both value and durability. Inscriptions include 40 FRANCS and the year of issue.
History
Louis Philippe I became King of the French in 1830 after the July Revolution. He held the throne until 1848, during a period known as the July Monarchy. Referred to as the “Citizen King,” he ruled under a constitutional monarchy that attempted to mix traditional authority with newer political ideas. His era brought economic development and new infrastructure, though it was also marked by social and political tension.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
