{{/presale}}In 1964, the United States Mint introduced a coin design that remains one of the newest among the circulating coins used for commerce in the nation. Though the modern Sacagawea Dollar has a newer design, it does not circulate on the level of the other denominations of American coinage. The large blank used for the half dollar and its relatively low circulation make it great for use in the production of commemorative coins from private mints. Today, you have the chance to buy 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms JFK Half Dollars online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in November 1963, the decision was made to replace the Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar design with one featuring President Kennedy. By January 1964, a new design was ready for production and the United States Mint released the first of the new Kennedy Half Dollars into circulation in March 1964. This was the fastest redesign of an American coin to date.
Obverse
On the obverse field of 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms JFK Half Dollar Coins, you will find a colorized application honoring the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution. Protecting the right of every American to keep and bear arms to protect themselves from any threat, the 2nd Amendment is reflected here in the image of a colonial figure with a musket in hand. The added notations read 2ND AMENDMENT and RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2nd Amendment JFK Half Dollar comes with a depiction of the modified presidential seal. This image features a front-facing American bald eagle with the US national shield on its chest. The bird clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. Surrounded by a ring of stars, the design element includes inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and HALF DOLLAR.
History
As the former colonies that had broken away from Great Britain sought to form a more perfect union. The United States Constitution was the foundational framework for the new nation. After its original draft, amendments were added. The first nine amendments are known as the Bill of Rights, with the 2nd Amendment protecting the right of every American to keep and bear arms.
