{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The year 2026 marks an important milestone in American history as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary. Known as the semiquincentennial, this occasion honors the nations founding in 1776 and will be recognized through special events and commemorative releases. The United States Mint is taking part in the America250 celebration by adding exclusive design elements to the annual Proof American Silver Eagle. These changes give added historical meaning to a familiar silver coin. Currently, 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is delivered with special America250 packaging created by the US Mint. The Proof Silver Eagle is sealed in a clear capsule and placed inside a classic presentation box. That box is then protected by an America250-themed outer shipper. A Certificate of Authenticity with matching branding is included with every coin.
Obverse
Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design appears on the obverse of the 2026-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coin. Liberty is shown walking confidently toward the sunrise, wrapped in the American flag. Her outstretched right hand reaches forward, while her left hand holds oak and laurel branches, long-standing symbols of strength and honor. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1776, 2026, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, Emily Damstras modern eagle design is featured. The image shows the American bald eagle descending in flight with raised wings while holding an oak branch in its talons, reflecting stability and endurance. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, the W mint mark, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
History
The 2026 Proof Silver Eagle features several commemorative details on the obverse that reflect the America250 theme. Beneath Libertys feet, the coin displays a dual date reading 17762026 to mark the anniversary. Also included within the obverse field is an America250 privy mark showing the Liberty Bell with the number 250 engraved vertically.
