{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}July 4, 2026, marks the 250th anniversary of the United States declaring its independence. This semiquincentennial milestone will be celebrated across the nation through special programs, commemorations, and historical tributes. The United States Mint is honoring America250 with its yearly Proof American Silver Eagle, which includes two distinct design elements created specifically for this historic anniversary. Right now, certified 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin offered here has received a perfect PR70 grade. Coins at this level retain full mint luster and show no visible imperfections. The DCAM, or deep-cameo proof designation, indicates strong contrast between frosted design elements and mirror-like background fields. First Day of Issue coins are those delivered to the grading service within 24 hours of the Mints official release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coin features Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty design. Liberty is shown in full-length profile walking toward the rising sun. Draped in the American flag, she reaches forward with her right hand while holding oak and laurel branches in her left. The design also includes the dual-date inscription, 1776-2026, and the America250 Liberty Bell privy. The inscriptions here read LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1776, 2026, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins is Emily Damstras American bald eagle design. First released in 2021, this image shows the eagle descending with uplifted wings in left-profile relief. An oak branch is held securely in the eagles talons. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the W mint mark.
History
Proof Silver Eagle production became more established during the 1990s as the series settled into a dependable annual release schedule. Mintages opened the decade at nearly 695,000 coins in 1990 and averaged around 450,000 pieces in the years that followed. While individual mintages fluctuated, overall collector demand remained steady, helping the Proof Silver Eagle earn its place as a core modern collectible.
