{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}In 2026, the United States commemorates its semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. This major milestone will be celebrated nationwide with official events and special numismatic releases. As part of the America250 program, the United States Mint has released its annual Proof American Silver Eagle with distinctive design features recognizing this historic anniversary. Certified 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are now available for purchase online from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2026-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are certified in perfect condition. PF70 examples show no visible flaws and retain full mint luster. Ultra-cameo proofs feature sharply frosted devices with deeply mirrored backgrounds. Advanced Release coins were distributed by the US Mint prior to the public release period.
Obverse
The obverse design on the 2026-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coin showcases Adolph A. Weinmans timeless Walking Liberty artwork. Liberty appears in left-profile relief, walking confidently toward the sunrise at the edge of the design. She is wrapped in the American flag and extends her right hand forward while holding oak and laurel branches in her left, symbolizing national strength and unity. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1776, 2026, and the AW signature mark.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin is the modern bald eagle design created by Emily Damstra. First introduced in 2021, the image captures the eagle descending in flight with wings lifted high. The eagle clutches an oak branch in its talons, reinforcing themes of stability and resilience. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, and the W mint mark.
History
Collectors often look to the 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle as the standout issue of the series due to its extremely limited production. With just 30,125 coins struck, it was available only as part of a special anniversary proof set. This restricted release created lasting demand and established the 1995-W as the key date for Proof Silver Eagles.
