Each 2026 Rwanda African Ounce Spotted Hyena 1 oz Silver Coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes sealed in protective plastic. This release marks the 19th coin in the popular Rwandan Wildlife Series.
Obverse
The obverse of each 2026 Rwanda African Ounce Spotted Hyena Silver Coin displays the national coat of arms of Rwanda. This emblem brings together many important symbols of the nation, including a woven basket at the center, flanked by sorghum and coffee branches. Beneath the basket is a cogwheel, with a rising sun shown above. Traditional shields appear on both sides, while a rope and knot surround the design to symbolize unity among the people. Inscriptions include BANKI NKURU Y’Y RWANDA, AMAFARANGA, 50, and ITANU.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2026 African Ounce Spotted Hyena 1 oz Silver Coin includes the familiar map outline of Africa used in all coins of the series. The lower-left field highlights a Spotted Hyena with its cubs. These animals are among Africas most skilled and organized hunters, known for their intelligence and teamwork. Their spotted coats and laughing sounds make them one of the most recognizable species across the continent. Inscriptions read AFRICAN OUNCE, 2026, and 1 OZ FINE SILVER 999.
History
Spotted hyenas live in many different regions throughout sub-Saharan Africa. They can be found on open grasslands and savannas, in woodland areas, and even at elevations reaching 4,000 meters. Their ability to adapt helps them thrive in a variety of environments, especially open areas that suit their social and hunting habits.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
