Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Rwanda African Ounce Spotted Hyena Silver Coin presents the national coat of arms of Rwanda. This intricate design includes meaningful cultural elementsa woven basket at the center, with sorghum and coffee branches on either side, symbolizing agriculture. A cogwheel rests beneath the basket to represent industry, while a rising sun and traditional shields complete the emblem. A rope and knot encircle the design, symbolizing unity among the Rwandan people. The inscriptions include BANKI NKURU Y’U RWANDA, AMAFARANGA, 10, and ITANU.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 African Ounce Spotted Hyena 1/12 oz Silver Coin, the outline of Africa is shown, a signature element of this coin series. In the lower-left, a Spotted Hyena and its cubs are featured, reflecting the strength and adaptability of the species. Often misunderstood as scavengers, hyenas are capable hunters that capture much of their own prey. Their recognizable coats and laugh-like calls make them some of the most distinctive animals on the continent. The inscriptions read AFRICAN OUNCE, 2026, and 1/12 OZ FINE SILVER 999.

Spotted hyenas are known for their matriarchal societies, where females lead clans that can reach up to 80 members. These intelligent and cooperative animals play a major role in Africas ecosystems, displaying advanced communication and group behavior.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
