{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Koalas are among the most recognizable animals native to Australia and hold a meaningful place in the nations culture. Loved for their calm nature and unmistakable appearance, koalas are often used to highlight the importance of protecting wildlife habitats. In 2026, the Royal Australian Mint continues its RAM Koala Series with the third overall design released in the collection. Today, 2026 Royal Australian Mint Koala 1 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Royal Australian Mint Koala 1 oz Silver Coin is offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Single coins are housed in clear acrylic capsules, while bulk purchases arrive in sealed rolls of 10 coins or sturdy boxes holding 240 coins.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Royal Australian Mint Koala Silver Coin features an official portrait of King Charles III. Designed by Dan Thorne, the effigy shows the King in left-facing profile without a crown. This portrait is among the earliest depictions of King Charles III to be featured on Australian coinage, marking a historic transition in the nations currency designs. The inscriptions here include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 2026, and 1 DOLLAR.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 RAM Koala 1 oz Silver Coin, a detailed image shows a koala family resting together in the branches of a gum tree. While koalas are often perceived as social, they usually live alone. The strongest relationship is between a mother and her joey. After about six months in the pouch, the joey rides on its mothers back for several more months while learning to climb and feed on eucalyptus leaves. Inscriptions here include KOALA, 1 OZ, and .999 AG.
History
Koalas have become closely associated with Australias image around the world, appearing in travel advertising, conservation campaigns, and educational programs. Their presence represents the countrys diverse wildlife and highlights the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems. As habitat loss continues to affect koala populations, these animals also serve as a reminder of the ongoing need for conservation efforts.
