Obverse
The obverse design of the 2026 Proof Niue Lunar Year of the Horse Silver Coin features an effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. The portrait shows the king in left-profile relief without a crown, continuing the modern presentation style used across current Commonwealth coinage. This effigy was created by Jody Clark, who also designed the final official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, maintaining a familiar artistic connection between reigns. The inscriptions here include CHARLES III, NIUE 2026, ONE DOLLAR, and 1 OZ 999 SILVER.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Proof Lunar Year of the Horse 1 oz Silver Coin, the artwork centers on the head of a horse with part of its upper body visible. The horse is shown in right-profile relief as it turns its head back, giving the design a sense of movement.
