{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Nez Perce have called the Idaho region home for thousands of years, settling in winter villages along river valleys and moving through the seasons to hunt, fish, and gather roots across the plateau country. Their way of life often followed the timing of salmon runs, camas harvesting, and buffalo hunts on the other side of the mountains, creating a semi-nomadic pattern shaped by detailed knowledge of the land. This historic tribe is recognized in the 46th release of the Native America the Beautiful Series. Right now, 2026 Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho 1 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.

All 2026 Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho 1 oz Silver Coins offered by Provident Metals come packaged in capsules and include a presentation box. Obverse
On the obverse of 2026 Proof Native America the Beautiful Idaho Silver Coins, youll find an image of Nez Perce members building canoes by moonlight. In September 1805, the Lewis and Clark Expedition entered Nez Perce territory in poor condition after a difficult stretch of travel. The tribe provided food, helped construct canoes, and offered guidance that helped the explorers follow river routes toward the Pacific Ocean. The inscriptions include NI MII PU, IDAHO, 2026, and NEZ PERCE.
Reverse
The reverse of 2026 Proof NATB Idaho 1 oz Silver Coins uses the standard emblem seen across the series, featuring an American bald eagle. The eagles head is placed at the center of an eight-pointed star, and arrowheads appear in the spaces between each point around the stars outer edge for a distinct, consistent look. The inscriptions read NATIVE AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL, MESA GRANDE SOVEREIGN NATION, 1 OUNCE, ONE DOLLAR, and 999 AG.
History
The name Nez Perce comes from a French description that means pierced nose, though that custom was not a major part of their culture. The people refer to themselves as Nimipuu, or the people. Their ancestral lands span sections of todays Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, with many communities centered near the Clearwater, Snake, and Salmon rivers. Celebrated for horsemanship and for their role in developing the Appaloosa horse, the Nez Perce built traditions rooted in the rivers and wide-open plateaus that supported their communities.
