Obverse
On the obverse of 2026 Proof Australian Newborn Silver Coins, youll find a portrait of King Charles III. His Majesty appears in left-profile relief and is shown without a crown. This first-generation effigy was designed by Dan Thorne. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 1/2 OZ 9999 AG, and 50 CENTS.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 1/2 oz Proof Silver Newborn Coin features three young animals gathered together in one cheerful scene. A baby kangaroo sits in the center, with a kookaburra chick to the right and a baby koala to the left. Festive accents fill the background, along with an engraving of CONGRATULATIONS above the trio. The inscriptions read CONGRATULATIONS, 2026, and the P mint mark.
History
Australias well-known baby animals dont all begin life the same way. Koala joeys are born very small and must climb into the mothers pouch, where they continue developing for months before theyre ready to peek out. Kangaroo joeys also arrive early and spend a long stretch growing safely in the pouch. Kookaburra chicks, however, hatch from eggs after a brief incubation period and start out blind and without feathers.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most Provident orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed.
