To recognize the 100th birthday of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, each coin in the 2026 HMS Bounty Series includes a QEII 100 privy mark. Coin Highlights:
All 2026 Pitcairn Islands Bounty 1 oz Silver Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are available individually in plastic flips, while orders of 100 coins come packaged together in a box.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2026 Pitcairn Islands Bounty Silver Coins is a left-facing portrait of King Charles III. This first-generation effigy was designed by Glyn Davies and shows His Majesty without a crown. Also found on this side is the QEII 100 privy mark, a tribute to the centennial of Queen Elizabeth IIs birth. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, PITCAIRN ISLANDS, 1 DOLLAR, and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Bounty 1 oz Silver Coins is an intricate depiction of the HMS Bounty sailing the seas. Following the mutiny led by Fletcher Christian, the ships crew traveled to isolated Pitcairn Island, where they burned the Bounty and started a settlement that went unnoticed for 18 years. The island remains home to descendants of those settlers today, and the Bounty narrative continues to appear in books, movies, and historical discussions centered on leadership, justice, and authority. The inscriptions read HMS BOUNTY and .999 AG 1 OZ.
History
The 1789 mutiny aboard the HMS Bounty is one of the most talked-about events in seafaring history. What started as a mission to transport breadfruit became a turning point filled with conflict, uncertainty, and survival. After being set adrift, Captain William Bligh and 18 crewmen completed an open-boat voyage of about 3,600 miles, a journey still remembered as a remarkable example of navigation and endurance. Over time, Blighs name has often been linked to a strict style of command, though the full story is more complicated than most summaries suggest.
