Obverse

Along with the portrait, the obverse includes the QEII 100 privy mark, recognizing the centennial of Queen Elizabeth IIs birth and her long-standing role in British history.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 Bounty 1/4 oz Gold Coin depicts the HMS Bounty in detailed form. The ship became famous after the 1789 mutiny led by Fletcher Christian. Following the uprising, the crew traveled to remote Pitcairn Island, where they destroyed the ship to avoid discovery and established a hidden settlement. The island remained isolated for many years, and descendants of the original settlers still live there today. The story of the HMS Bounty has continued to influence literature, film, and historical discussion.
History
After the mutiny, the fate of the crew varied widely. Fletcher Christian and eight mutineers, along with six Tahitian men and twelve Tahitian women, settled on Pitcairn Island in 1790. Internal conflict soon followed, largely due to limited resources and tensions within the group, leading to the deaths of all Tahitian men and most of the mutineers. Meanwhile, sixteen crewmen who stayed in Tahiti were later captured by HMS Pandora in 1791. After the ship sank, four men drowned, while the survivors were returned to England, where three were executed after trial.
