Each coin in the 2026 series includes this privy on the obverse, positioned to the right of the portrait of King Charles III. The privy mark appears across all denominations issued for the year. Today, 2026 Pitcairn Islands Bounty 1/2 oz Silver Coins are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Pitcairn Islands Bounty 1/2 oz Silver Coin is produced in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes packaged in a protective plastic flip. The commemorative QEII 100 privy highlights the significance of the 2026 release within the broader HMS Bounty Series.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Pitcairn Islands Bounty Silver Coin presents a left-facing portrait of King Charles III. Designed by Glyn Davies, the image shows the monarch without a crown, continuing the modern portrait style used in recent coinage. The QEII 100 privy mark appears beside the effigy to commemorate Queen Elizabeth IIs centennial year.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Bounty 1/2 oz Silver Coin is an image of the HMS Bounty in fine detail. After the mutiny led by Fletcher Christian, the ship was sailed to Pitcairn Island and destroyed to prevent discovery. The story of the Bounty has remained an important historical narrative, often referenced in discussions of leadership, loyalty, and survival.
History
The HMS Bounty mutiny is central to the history of Pitcairn Island. After fleeing to the island, the mutineers and their Tahitian companions formed a settlement that has endured for generations. Todays residents often trace their ancestry directly to those early settlers, preserving a culture that blends English traditions with Polynesian influence.
