Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Colorized Australian Lunar Horse Silver Coin depicts King Charles III. He appears in left-facing profile and is shown without a crown. This first-generation portrait was created by Dan Thorne specifically for use on Australian coinage. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, AUSTRALIA, 5 OZ 9999 AG, and 8 DOLLARS.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2026 Colorized Lunar Horse 5 oz Silver Coins, the design features two horses racing across an open countryside scene. One is a full-grown horse and the other is a young colt, with both shown in rich brown coloring. A mountain range appears in the distance, while a river flows through the middle ground to create a strong sense of depth in the background. The inscriptions read HORSE, 2026, the Chinese emblem for the horse, and the P mint mark.
