First released in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf quickly earned a reputation as one of the most trusted silver coins in the world. Following nearly a decade after the Gold Maple Leafs 1979 debut, the silver version set itself apart as the first coin from a leading nation to feature .9999 pure silver. The 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coins are now offered at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Coins arrive inside plastic flips, protective tubes of 25 coins, or a Monster Box of 500 coins!
  • 39th year for the Silver Maple Leaf Series!
  • Contains 1 troy oz of .9999 pure silver in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $5 (CAD) by Canada.
  • King Charles III on the obverse.
  • Sugar maple leaf on the reverse.
  • Enhanced security privy is laser-engraved on the reverse.

Each 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin comes in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins are packaged individually in plastic flips, in sets of 25 within tubes, or in Monster Boxes of 500 coins, which include 20 tubes. Each coin in the series also carries a laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark for security.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf Silver Coin features the official portrait of King Charles III. Introduced in 2024, this left-facing image depicts the King without a crown. Canadian artist Steven Rosati created this design for the Royal Canadian Mint. Inscriptions include CHARLES III, 5 DOLLARS, and 2026.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2026 Maple Leaf 1 oz Silver Coin, youll find the familiar sugar maple leaf design. First created in 1979 by Walter Ott for the Gold Maple Leaf, this image has remained unchanged for decades and continues to appear on the silver, platinum, and palladium Maple Leaf coins. Inscriptions read CANADA, 9999, FINE SILVER, 1 OZ, and ARGENT PUR.

History

The sugar maple is a species with deep roots in North America. Originating during the Tertiary period around 65 million years ago, the maple genus spread from Asia. Over countless glacial shifts, the sugar maple adapted and today thrives in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada.
