{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}Introduced in 1979, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf quickly became a core part of the global bullion market. Its history is second only to the South African Krugerrand, making it one of the longest-standing gold coin programs. While the series began with just one weight, it has expanded to six choices available each year. Among these, the 1 oz coin is the most widely known, but smaller sizes offer flexible options for buyers. Right now, Provident Metals has 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Sheets available.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Sheet comes with 20 Brilliant Uncirculated coins. This is a bulk product, so there are no single coins offered on their own. In total, the sheet contains five troy ounces of 24-karat gold.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin features the first Canadian portrait of King Charles III. Designed by Canadian artist Steven Rosati, the left-profile portrait shows the King without a crown. This portrait is significant, as only three Canadian artists have ever created royal effigies for Canadian coins. The inscriptions include CHARLES III, 10 DOLLARS, and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse, the 2026 Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Coin continues to use Walter Otts sugar maple leaf artwork. Originally created in 1979, this design has become a lasting symbol of the Maple Leaf collection and is shared across gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins. The inscriptions read CANADA, 9999, 1/4 OZ, FINE GOLD, and OR PUR.
History
Sugar maple trees change noticeably throughout the growing season. Their leaves emerge bright green in the spring and early summer. This is because chlorophyll is most active then, giving the leaves their strong green color. The color stays through the summer as the leaves work to produce energy for the tree.
