First introduced in 1979, the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf quickly became known as one of the worlds most dependable bullion coins. With a production history that stretches back nearly half a century, it is second only to the South African Krugerrand for uninterrupted availability. The series began with just a single coin but has since grown to offer six different weights annually. While the 1 oz piece is the best-known, fractional sizes like the 1/4 oz have long been popular with buyers. The 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Coins are now available online at Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives in sealed plastic or sheets of 20 coins!
  • 47th year of release for the Gold Maple Leaf series!
  • Contains 1/4 troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Bears a $10 (USD) face value backed by Canada.
  • Obverse features King Charles III.
  • Reverse shows the sugar maple leaf.

These 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin ships in sealed plastic, with groups of 20 coins packaged in sealed sheets. The 1/4 oz coin joined the Maple Leaf lineup in 1982 and remains an ongoing part of the program.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2026 Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin debuts the first Canadian coin portrait of King Charles III. Created by Canadian artist Steven Rosati, the image portrays the King without a crown, facing to the left. This marks just the third occasion that a Canadian artist has produced a monarchs effigy for Canadian coins. The inscriptions here include CHARLES III, 10 DOLLARS, and 2026.

Reverse

On the reverse, the 2026 Maple Leaf 1/4 oz Gold Coin carries Walter Otts detailed sugar maple leaf. This design was first unveiled in 1979 and has become a signature for the Maple Leaf series. It is featured consistently across gold, silver, platinum, and palladium versions of the coin. Inscriptions here include CANADA, 9999, FINE GOLD, 1/4 OZ, and OR PUR.

History

In real life, sugar maple leaves go through striking seasonal changes. During the spring and summer months, chlorophyll makes the leaves appear bright green as the tree produces energy. The green coloring remains dominant throughout the warmer months until autumn, when other pigments begin to show.
