{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The British Britannia series expanded in 2018 with the introduction of a platinum coin. Matching the look of the gold and silver editions, the Platinum Britannia first appeared in a 1 oz weight and is now offered in both 1 oz and 1/10 oz versions. Provident Metals is pleased to offer the 2026 British Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coin.
Highlights:
All 2026 British Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. They are available in single protective flips, tubes of 5 to 10 coins, or boxes of 100 coins, with a typical box containing 10 tubes of 10 coins. The reverse design includes four modern security details: a latent image, tincture lines within the Union Jack, micro-engraved text around Britannia, and wave patterns with motion effect.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 British Britannia Platinum Coin presents the first-generation portrait of King Charles III. Released by The Royal Mint in 2022, the design shows the King in left-profile without a crown. It was created by Martin Jennings. The inscriptions here include CHARLES III, DG REX FD, and 100 POUNDS.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2026 Britannia 1 oz Platinum Coins, Britannia is shown standing with a trident in her right hand. A Union Jack shield rests near her left arm as she also holds an olive branch. A Corinthian-style helmet crowns her head, merging traditional and modern themes. Inscriptions here include BRITANNIA, 2026, 1 OZ, and 999.5 PLATINUM.
History
In the peak years of the British Empire, from the 18th through the early 20th centuries, Britannia shifted from a myth-inspired figure to a strong emblem of national influence. She became tied to the Rule Britannia era, symbolizing the countrys naval dominance and far-reaching presence.
