{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The Austrian Philharmonic bullion coin series, first released by the Austrian Mint in 1989, is available in gold, silver, and platinum. The gold series offers the widest selection of weights across the lineup. Over time, it has become one of continental Europes most recognized and collected coin programs. Today, 2026 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins are offered at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 Austrian Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coin comes in an individual plastic flip or in acrylic tubes of 20 for larger orders. These coins are offered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and mark the smallest weight in the series. The 1/25 oz option was first added in 2014 to commemorate the series 25th anniversary.
Obverse
For the 2026 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin, the obverse design highlights the Great Pipe Organ inside the Musikverein. Completed in 1872 by Friedrich Ladegast, this instrument has been expanded and maintained by several organ builders over time to preserve its unique sound. The inscriptions here read REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1/25 UNZE GOLD 999.9, 2026, and 4 EURO.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2026 Philharmonic 1/25 oz Gold Coins features a collection of instruments tied to the Vienna Philharmonic. A cello sits in the center with four violins placed around it, while a bassoon, harp, and Vienna horn are shown in the background. Inscriptions here read WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.
History
The Musikvereins Golden Hall has served as the Vienna Philharmonics home venue since opening in 1870, becoming closely linked to the orchestras reputation. Built by the Society of Music Friends (Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde), the concert hall survived both world wars largely intact and underwent careful restorations that maintained its world-class acoustics while introducing modern amenities.
