Obverse
On the obverse of the 2026 Armenian Noah’s Ark Gold Coin is the national coat of arms of Armenia. Officially adopted on April 19, 1992, the design shows an eagle and a lion supporting a shield. These symbols reflect Armenias long history, tracing back to ancient kingdoms. The shield is divided into four sections with historic imagery, and at its center is a small depiction of Noahs Ark resting on Mount Ararat. The inscriptions include REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA, 25000 DRAM, 1/2 OZ AU 999.9, and 2026.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 Noah’s Ark 1/2 oz Gold Coin displays Noahs Ark floating on the floodwaters. A dove holding an olive branch approaches the ark, representing peace and hope. Mount Ararat appears in the background beneath the rising sun, marking the traditional resting place of the ark. The words Noahs Ark are inscribed in Armenian and English, connecting the design to both biblical tradition and Armenian heritage.
History
The account of Noahs Ark comes from the Book of Genesis and is one of the most familiar biblical stories. According to scripture, God sends a flood to cleanse the earth and instructs Noah to construct an ark. By faithfully carrying out this task, Noah preserves his family and pairs of animals. After the floodwaters recede, God promises never again to destroy the earth in this manner. The story continues to symbolize faith, obedience, and renewal.
