Rollo worked to blend Norse and Frankish cultures by pushing his followers to accept local traditions, adopt the French language, and embrace Christianity, all while maintaining Viking strength in leadership and defense. His rule helped Normandy grow into a powerful medieval region, and his descendants later shaped history, including the 1066 conquest of England led by William the Conqueror. History
Rollos story changed with the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte. Through this agreement, he was granted lands in what is now Normandy in exchange for a pledge of loyalty to the French crown and a promise to help defend the region from other Viking raiders. He also converted to Christianity as part of the terms and began a ruling line that would go on to influence European events for generations.
