{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The American Silver Eagle series reaches a major anniversary in 2026 as the United States Mint marks forty years since the bullion program began. First issued in 1986, these coins started as 1 oz .999 fine silver pieces meant to give investors a simple, dependable way to own silver. With steady demand over the decades, the Silver Eagle remains a go-to choice for bullion buyers and collectors alike. Today, 2026 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins in certified condition are available online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2026 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins are offered in plastic slabs with perfect MS70 grades. An MS70 coin displays full original luster and no visible marks, even under close inspection. First Day of Issue coins are those that arrive for grading within 24 hours of the mints release.
Obverse
The obverse design on the 2026 American Eagle Silver Coin continues to showcase Adolph A. Weinmans Walking Liberty image. Liberty appears in left-profile as she strides toward the rising sun, wrapped in the folds of the American flag. Her right hand is extended outward, while her left arm carries oak and laurel branches that symbolize strength, tradition, and peace. The inscriptions here include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin, youll find the modern bald eagle artwork used since 2021. Designed by Emily Damstra in 2020, the scene captures a bald eagle coming down to land, wings spread and angled in motion. The eagle holds an oak branch in its talons, tying the design to long-standing American symbols. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, ONE DOLLAR, and 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.
History
While the Silver Eagles silver content and weight have stayed consistent, the series has not been completely unchanged. Over time, the U.S. Mint has refined details and security features, with the most important shift happening in 2021 when Damstras eagle replaced the earlier heraldic-style reverse.
