The American Gold Eagle has served as the official gold bullion coin of the United States since 1986. As the series marks its 40th year in 2026, collectors and investors continue to turn to its various sizes, including the 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins. While the 1/4 oz coin may not always be in the spotlight, it has been issued every year since the series began. Provident Metals now offers the 2026 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin online.

Highlights:

  • Ships in plastic flips or tubes of 40 coins!
  • Celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Gold Eagle Series!
  • Contains 1/4 Troy oz of actual gold content in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of $10 (USD) backed by the United States.
  • Obverse shows a depiction of Liberty.
  • Reverse features the American bald eagle.
  • Please note that the US Mint has not yet released designs, and images are subject to change.

These 2026 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. They are individually packaged in plastic flips, with options for tubes of 40 coins. The coins face value of $10 (USD) makes it the only size in the series without a clean proportional match to the 1 oz coins $50 face value.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2026 American Eagle Gold Coin presents a historic design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Created in the early 20th century, it shows Lady Liberty walking forward with a torch held high in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The design is full-length and front-facing, offering a classic image that has become a symbol of the Gold Eagle series. The inscriptions include LIBERTY, 2026, and the ASG signature mark.

Reverse

For the reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin, the United States Mint continues with the design first introduced in 2021. This newer image focuses on the bald eagle in a left-profile portrait. Created by Jennie Norris, the design highlights the eagle’s features in fine detail and replaced the previous eagle family design during the coins 35th anniversary update. The inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 10 DOLLARS, and 1/4 OZ FINE GOLD.

History

Although it doesnt always get the same attention as the other sizes, the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle has been a steady part of the lineup since 1986. Its highest mintage came in its debut year, and like the 1/2 oz version, demand has fluctuated over time, often rising during uncertain financial periods.
