{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}First introduced in 1986, the American Gold Eagle bullion series from the United States Mint has appeared every year without interruption. The 2026 issue completes 40 straight years of annual releases, making it one of the longest-running modern gold programs in the world. To celebrate this anniversary, the Mint keeps the familiar 22-karat Gold Eagle imagery for 2026 while noting this important milestone in the series history. Right now, 2026 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins in certified condition are available online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 2026 American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coins are certified MS 70 and come secured in protective slabs. An MS 70 grade signals a coin with a perfect strike, bright luster, and no visible marks. First Day of Issue examples are those submitted to NGC for grading within one day of the Mints release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 American Eagle Gold Coin showcases Saint-Gaudens celebrated Lady Liberty design, originally created in 1907. Taken from the classic $20 Double Eagle, it features Liberty walking toward the viewer with a torch raised in her right hand and an olive branch resting in her left. The inscriptions here read LIBERTY and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1/4 oz Gold Coin appears the newer bald eagle artwork by Jennie Norris. First struck on Gold Eagles in 2021, the design focuses on a close-up, left-profile view of the eagles head, with carefully shaped feathers and strong relief. Inscriptions here read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 10 DOLLARS, and 1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
Collectors and investors often choose the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle for its balance of affordability and gold weight. The denomination gained even more attention in 2021 when the Norris reverse replaced the older family-eagle scene, giving this fractional coin an updated look while preserving the long-standing Liberty obverse.
