Each 2026 American Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coin offered here is housed in a protective slab and graded MS70 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. An MS70 coin is considered perfect, showing full mint brilliance with no visible marks. Coins labeled Early Release were submitted to NGC within 30 days of the mints release date.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 2026 American Eagle Gold Coins, you will see Augustus Saint-Gaudens renowned Lady Liberty design. Originally made for the historic $20 Double Eagle, this artwork depicts Liberty striding forward, torch in one hand and olive branch in the other. Light rays shine behind her, the U.S. Capitol rests in the lower background, and stars circle the border. Inscriptions include LIBERTY and 2026.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1/2 oz Gold Coins bears the modern bald eagle portrait introduced in 2020. Created by Jennie Norris, this sharp, close-up design focuses on the eagles head, highlighting its powerful gaze and intricate feathers. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 25 DOLLARS, and 1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
The design of the 1/2 oz Gold Eagle mirrors the larger coins in the program, with details adjusted to suit the 27mm planchet. For many years, Miley Busieks family-of-eagles reverse provided continuity across the series. That reverse was replaced in 2021 with a new image as part of the 35th anniversary update.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
