{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}In 2026, the American Gold Eagle reaches its 40th year as a key option for US gold bullion buyers. The United States Mint began the program in 1986 and introduced it with four weights so investors and collectors could choose what best fit their goals. There is a 1 oz coin, plus three fractional sizes, and the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle has consistently been the favorite among the smaller formats. All American Gold Eagles are struck in 22-karat gold and contain 91.67% gold by weight. Right now, 2026 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coins in certified condition are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2026 American Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin offered here is graded in perfect condition. An MS70 example displays complete mint luster and a clean surface with no visible flaws that distract from the design. The First Day of Issue designation is reserved for coins that arrive at the grading facility within 24 hours of the US Mints release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2026 American Eagle Gold Coin presents Lady Liberty in Augustus Saint-Gaudens celebrated design first used in 1907. Liberty is shown full-length, stepping forward toward the viewer. She carries a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left to represent progress and peace. The U.S. Capitol sits in the distance, rays of sunlight rise behind her, and stars line the border. The inscriptions here include LIBERTY and 2026.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2026 Eagle 1/10 oz Gold Coin is the current bald eagle portrait that debuted in 2021 for the series 35th anniversary. Designed by Jennie Norris, the image is a close left-profile view of the eagles head with sharp detail and strong texture. Inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 5 DOLLARS, and 1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD.
History
The 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle has been part of the bullion series every year since the program launched, with steady mintages that mirror reliable demand. Many buyers appreciate this smaller weight for its accessible gold content and its usefulness for building a flexible stack or picking up a meaningful gift. The 1/10 oz coin is also notable in the series because it is the only size other than the 1 oz that has ever outpaced the flagship in annual production. It even holds the all-time single-year record, reaching 2.75 million coins minted in 1999.
