{{/presale}} {{#promotion_on}}The United States Mint expands its American Liberty Series in 2025 with a release that brings a fresh and symbolic design to the program. This years issue introduces a sunflower and honey bee motif on the obverse and is part of a two-piece offering that also includes a silver medal. Collectors will find a 1 oz proof silver medal from the Philadelphia Mint and a 1 oz proof high-relief gold coin struck at the West Point Mint. Certified 2025-W Proof American Liberty High Relief 1 oz Gold Coins are now available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 2025-W Proof American Liberty High Relief 1 oz Gold Coin in this listing is encapsulated in a durable plastic slab and features an American flag label. Coins graded PF70 are considered flawless, with no visible imperfections. UCAM examples show crisp frosted designs paired with deeply reflective fields. The First Day of Issue designation applies to coins submitted to the grading service within 24 hours of the mints official release.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2025-W Proof American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin shows a honey bee pollinating a sunflower. This imagery reflects the effort and care required to support liberty over time. Just as bees are essential to the growth of plants, the design suggests that liberty depends on active involvement and stewardship from the people who benefit from it. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, 2025, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025-W Proof Liberty High Relief 1 oz Gold Coin features a bold interpretation of the American bald eagle. The eagles head is the focal point, while its wings curve around it to create movement and balance. This side also includes the W mint mark, identifying the West Point Mint as the striking location. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 100 DOLLARS, 1 OZ., .9999 FINE GOLD, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the W mint mark.
History
The American Liberty Series gives the United States Mint an opportunity to present Liberty through new artistic lenses. Since the Mint began operations in 1792, Liberty has been a central theme in U.S. coinage. This series builds on that history by moving beyond traditional imagery and using modern symbolism to express ideas tied to freedom, responsibility, and national values.
