The United States Mint crafts its burnished American Eagle coins using a refined process that gives them a smooth matte look. Unlike proof coins, which have mirror-like finishes, burnished coins are made using planchets that are tumbled with stainless steel pellets to create an even surface. These specially prepared blanks are then struck once to give them their distinctive finish. Provident Metals now offers the 2025-W Burnished American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coins.

Highlights:

  • Comes with a plastic capsule, a presentation box, a themed shipper, and a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • 17th release in the Burnished Gold Eagle lineup!
  • Limited mintage of just 7,500 coins!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of actual gold content.
  • Issued with a face value of $50 (USD) backed by the U.S. government.
  • Obverse shows the iconic Lady Liberty by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
  • Reverse displays a bald eagle design by Jennie Norris.
  • Features the W mint mark of the West Point Mint.

Each 2025-W Burnished American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin from Provident Metals comes in a protective capsule and is housed in a sleek presentation box. A Gold Eagle-themed shipper surrounds the box, and every coin is paired with an official Certificate of Authenticity. With a limited mintage of only 7,500 coins, this release is more exclusive than the previous year.

Obverse

The obverse of 2025-W Burnished American Eagle Gold Coins features the full-length image of Lady Liberty as envisioned by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Liberty holds a torch high in one hand and an olive branch in the other. Radiating sunbeams shine behind her, the U.S. Capitol appears at her feet, and stars circle around the outer edge. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, 2025, the ASG signature mark, and the W mint mark.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2025-W Burnished Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin, the design centers on a detailed left-profile portrait of the American bald eagle. This modern design by Jennie Norris captures the texture and strength of the eagles features. It was created in 2020 and introduced to the Gold Eagle series in 2021. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 50 DOLLARS, and 1 OZ. FINE GOLD.

History

Once the planchets are polished, they are struck one time on presses equipped with dies prepared specifically for the burnished format. This results in a frosted, satin-like finish that sets these coins apart from both bullion and proof American Eagles.
